Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

Ludica is a BJJ technique tracking app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep this short and plain — no legal boilerplate.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and store it alongside your account. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.

Profile information. During onboarding, you may optionally provide your display name, belt level, gym or school, how often you train, and which positions you want to focus on. All of this is optional.

Training data. We store what you log: training sessions (positions worked, optional notes), techniques you save or add manually, technique status (drilling, hit live, owns it), and optional personal notes on techniques.

Streak data. We track your current streak, longest streak, and last active date to power the streak feature.

Feedback. If you rate a training session (rough / okay / good / great), we store that rating to help improve the product.

Analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the app is used — which content gets clicked, which filters are used, how often users check in. PostHog also automatically collects device type, browser, and approximate location derived from your IP address.

What we do not collect

  • Payment or financial information
  • Precise GPS location
  • Camera or microphone access
  • Your contacts
  • Health sensor data
  • Advertising identifiers

Ludica is not a medical or healthcare service and does not integrate with Apple HealthKit or similar health platforms.

How we use your data

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the app
  • Sync and save your training data
  • Improve features and fix bugs
  • Monitor app performance and security
  • Respond to support requests

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the services required to run the app:

  • Supabase (US) — our database and authentication provider. All user data is stored here.
  • PostHog (US/EU) — product analytics. Receives behavioral event data and device information.
  • Google — authentication only. We receive your email address when you sign in with Google.
  • Apple — authentication only. Same as above.
  • Vercel (US) — app hosting. May log IP addresses for security purposes.

No other third parties receive your data.

Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process personal information under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — to provide the services you request and operate your account.
  • Legitimate interests — in improving, securing, and maintaining Ludica, including product analytics via PostHog.
  • Consent — where you have given it, such as optional profile information.

International transfers

Ludica is based in the United States. Your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers (Supabase, PostHog, and Vercel) operate. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period thereafter for security, legal, and operational purposes. Analytics data is subject to PostHog's retention settings. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time — see Your Rights below.

Your rights

You can view and edit your profile information in the app at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for EU/UK users, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office)

California residents may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@getludica.com. We will respond within one month.

Children

Ludica is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you within the app or by email.
